Between the Buttons
Rafael Rosende
Over the generous bed
a fascinated little girl stares
at the collection of colored buttons
that her grandmother
has scattered over the place.
In the center
of this wonderworld,
lies a binary system:
two wide open eyes
surrounded
by a cluster of buttons
spread like planetoids
of a yet to invent
multiplicity of buttons' array.
A silent music of the flattened spheres
is playing in the back of the mind
and a celebration of colors and textures
is happening in the cozy house
of the early sixties at Viña del Mar.
Time stops while
she observes and explore.
Moving the disks,
looking for new combinations,
secret associations
is the name of the game;
an unthought kinship,
never ending relations
and permanent complicity
guides this magical mystery tour,
that brings continuous wonder,
and surprises waiting to be unveiled.
A kind of kaleidoscope patchwork on the making...
